When did libraries get so loud?

Question: What is the difference between the Salem Church library in Sportsylvania, VA and Chuck E Cheese.
Answer: The Chuck E Cheese is quieter.
Due to DSL problems today I spent a chunk of the afternoon working at the library. Chuck E Cheese on Friday night would have been quieter. Kids crying, toddlers running around screaming, teenagers with Ipods so loud I could hear the lyrics 30 feet away, and cell phones ringing. It was freaking ridiculous. Michelle says that parents dump kids there and use it as a babysitting service, but I didn’t see any of that today. All the younger kids were with parents that apparently see nothing wrong with running though the aisles screaming in the library.
Now I understand why this library has a separate room set aside for quiet study. Quiet is apparently no longer expected in the main library.

I went to two libraries in a row to work and both had messed up internet. I got the signal but there was no internet at the other end of it.
I finally went to Panera Bread Company and got a lot accomplished. I actually do better with the murmur of background noise.
