Biblically Correct Musuem Tours

I have nothing to add to this. ABC does a very good job with the story. Of course, the tour group in the story is a homeschooling group.
The money quote is at the 7:26 mark.

If you want to frame what those people are doing in religious terms then it’s idolatry and the bible is there idol. They’ve mistaken what they claim is the inerrant word of God FOR God.
It you want to put it in secular terms well then, they’re dorks.
That made me cringe. They seemed very ignorant not only about science, but about what they are teaching.
No wonder homeschoolers have such a bad name.
You scared me – my first thought was that the museum might be sponsoring such a tour! Whew.
Apparently, “biblically correct” can be defined as “completely detached from reality, and either completely in denial about it or too stupid to know any better.”
Wow. I think the most disturbing thing about this was the brainwashing tactics of the tour guide. It wasn’t stating facts as they went along, as any regular tour guide would do, but asking the audience to verify the rightness of what he was saying. Telling them “this is the truth”, and then asking them to repeat it back, over and over. Scary stuff.
I’ve still yet to see any creationist make their point in some way other than saying what’s wrong with evolutionary theory. Even if the other guy is wrong, that doesn’t make you right.
“Regardless of what the tour guide says, some of those kids are going to start thinking for themselves.”
I’d like to believe that some of them would actually think for themselves, but IMO, that’s pretty optimistic. Unless they have a chance to get deprogrammed, they’re just going to grow up and pass their delusion on to their own children.
Scary.
Creationism is a belief for the simple-minded and ignorant.
God must be ashamed that human beings can be so totally indifferent to the amazing world around them that they would turn their backs on so much clear and convincing scientific evidence.
Besides, what’s wrong with believing that God is behind the evolutionary process?
Actually, in the end, I’m not sure it even matters what people believe on this subject. Just stay out of my face with it.
