No Soliciting
I replaced Michelle's generic no soliciting sign with one that is a little more in my style.
ABSOLUTELY NO SOLICITING
If you are selling something DO NOT knock on the door, or ring the doorbell. We do not need your magazines, coupon books, or eternal salvation. I'm sure your cause is important, and it will still be important without the donation you will not get from us.
If you are a Boy Scout or Girl Scout this does not apply, please knock. One can never have too many Thin Mints in the house!
Nobody has bothered us all week.

How many people stop by in an average week? I've always been curious how many people knock on our door when we're not around.
Posted by: Ryan at August 7, 2006 08:39 AMI'd say we were getting somebody 4-5 nights a week. Now they walk up, read the sign, and walk away.
Posted by: COD at August 7, 2006 08:41 AMPerhaps your sign should read, "ABOLUTELY NO SOLICITING," but underneath in smaller text, "unless you're selling Girl Scout Cookies" with room for other exceptions.
You should then have a tiny web-cam attached so you can see the expressions on various people's faces as they read the sign.
Posted by: Aaron Mildenstein at August 7, 2006 11:33 AMI actually own a small black and white security system that I used at our old house.

Posted by: COD at August 7, 2006 11:44 AMFunny, nobody ever stops by my house to solicit. For crying out loud, how am I going to reverse-solicit them if they don't show up! (toungue firmly planted in cheek) ;-)
