I, for one, will never bow down to our new TV overlords
According to Nielson researchers, there are 2.73 televisions in the average US home, and only 2.55 people. Over 50% of households have 3 or more TVs.
We have two in use. A third 19" TV is collecting dust in the guest bedroom. The family room TV is just a standard 36" model, and the home theater set in the basement is a 53" HDTV. 4 years later and I still haven't bothered to upgrade DirecTV to HD.
We do have 5 computers for 4 people though. That will be 6 as soon as I find find a cheapie castoff PC to use for a music server. I'm going to ditch the CD jukebox and plug a PC into my receiver.

For 6 people we have two televisions hooked to the cable (Basic only). A 3rd box is hooked to the Gamecube. Does that count?
Two computers plus my company-issued laptop.
Posted by: Daryl Cobranchi at September 23, 2006 10:43 AMOne TV with cable for four people, and three computers (five in the house, but two are just waiting to be shot, Old Yeller style).
Posted by: Tim Haas at September 23, 2006 11:06 AMBoth of ours have DirecTV - the basement TV also has Tivo and the PS2. And one of those computers is my work laptop.
Posted by: COD at September 23, 2006 11:20 AM2 tvs (27" & 32")- no cable, no dish, just VCRs/DVD combos and a netflix account. 4 desktops (one's my gamerboys) and a laptop on all with wireless access.
We have bits and pieces of discarded PCs all over the place.
BTW, my hubby wants to set up a PC server for music too.
Posted by: NicksMama at September 23, 2006 09:34 PM5 but recently six people. One tv hooked up to satellite dish (21" I think), one hooked up to nothing but a DVD player in the bedroom. And one hte attic that should be shot.
Two computers in massive use, one Unix box that needs a new monitor, one the boy took with him, and one Ron has over at the apartment. Miscellaneous parts all over.
4 people, 2 tvs. Um, I think 8 computers in use, plus a few more old ones laying around....
Posted by: silvermine at September 24, 2006 03:21 PMIf we have one tv but no outside reception, does that count? We only watch recorded things, mostly Netflix rentals and VeggieTales.
Posted by: Paul Baxter at September 24, 2006 07:20 PMWe have one in the family room, on in our bedroom, and that's it. The girls are begging for one in their room, but that's a firm no!
